Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara announced on May 25, 2020 that the City has developed Outdoor Seating Guidelines and an application process for Outdoor Sidewalk Cafes. The Guidelines and the Application can be found here: https://rockfordil.gov/preparing-for-covid-19/.
In brief, restaurant/bar owners need to complete the application, obtain the property owner’s approval, and provide a site plan and written operations plan for the City to review prior to approval.
